Yesterday we attended Aylesbury Vale & Chiltern Food Day at the Houses of Parliament, following an invitation to showcase our ice cream. It was a fantastic day and an excellent opportunity to meet MPs and other staff who were intrigued to hear about the story of Beechdean, impressed that we are a farm-based ice cream group with our own Jersey cows. They were even more impressed upon tasting the ice cream – some new to Beechdean and others familiar with the product, it was enjoyed by everyone. The most popular flavours were Sticky Toffee Fudge, Honey & Ginger, Double Chocolate and Mango Sorbet. We had to re-stock the freezer many times to keep up with everyone (especially those who came back for more!).
It was also a great opportunity for us to meet other companies and brands from the Chiltern area who were showcasing their products as well. We particularly enjoyed trying Chiltern Ridge apple juice, blue cheese from No.2 Pound Street, and all the different flavours of Nakd raw fruit and nut bars.
