Beechdean Group, manufacturer of Beechdean, Loseley and other key ice cream brands is pioneering an innovative new format in the luxury ice cream category – ‘Decadent Luxury Ice Cream Desserts by Beechdean’.
Drawing on broader market dessert trends of permissible treating, dining at home and hybrid desserts, Beechdean have created a range of “ice cream desserts” using Jersey milk and double cream from their prize herd of 400 Jersey cows and some of the finest ingredients Britain has to offer with a twist – they are served in individual “crystal” plastic ramekins which are elegant enough to be served at a dinner party or enjoyed as a personal indulgence in a controlled portion.
‘Decadent’ is a unique ice cream experience in terms of the flavour and format. Each ice cream has been carefully crafted with balance, flavour and texture that will take consumers on a journey with every mouthful that has rich and luxurious Jersey milk ice cream at its heart with the convenience and sophistication of individual ramekins.
The range initially launches with two cheesecake ice cream products –
‘Salted Caramel Cheesecake’ – An Amaretti biscuit base topped with salted caramel cheesecake ice cream, salted caramel sauce and salted caramel butter croquant pieces.
‘Lemon Cheesecake’ – An Amaretti biscuit base topped with lemon cheesecake ice cream and a lemon curd ripple.
Each comes in a pack of two individually sealed 120ml ramekins. A third flavour, ‘Chocolate Ganache’ will join the range later in the autumn.
When interviewed Andrew Howard, MD of the Beechdean Group said “We are excited to be bringing innovation to the luxury ice cream category which is dominated in Retail by 500ml tubs. Our heartland is supplying top-end restaurants, hotels and the Travel sector so it’s great that we can bring these decadent flavours to the Retail market. Because of our Foodservice heritage we also look at formats in a different way to other manufacturers. We are launching the ‘Decadent’ range initially in Retail as we identified a gap in the market for a high-quality dessert solution that brings new news and new footfall to the ice cream aisle but we see this format working across all Channels.”
‘Decadent Ice Cream Desserts by Beechdean’ are launching initially at Ocado on 6th September.
