Beechdean Dairies Shortlisted for the Telegraph Festival of Business SME Awards Two Years Running
Beechdean Dairies have been shortlisted for the Telegraph Festival of Business SME Award for the second year in a row. The prestigious award is known to have as many as 400 UK businesses enter.
Beechdean, owned and run by husband and wife team Andrew and Susie Howard made the shortlist in 2015 and was one of only four companies who made the cut. The other shortlisted companies included sausage makers Heck Food; stonemasons J Rotherham; and Morgan Innovation and Technology, which develops and manufactures new products for the medical and commercial industries. Heck Food won the 2015 award, presented in association with Amazon, which was announced at the Telegraph Festival of Business Conference.
The award, which aims to find the brightest and best up and coming British businesses has now entered its third year and to the company’s delight, Beechdean Dairies have been shortlisted again.
To receive recognition as a small business is often unexpected, the Telegraph Festival of Business is a fantastic award which looks to actively acknowledge small and medium businesses. To be shortlisted once is great, to be shortlisted two years running is genuinely amazing.” – Andrew Howard, Co- Founder of Beechdean Dairies
The Festival of Business will be held on November 8, in London. The winner of this year’s FoB SME Award will be announced during the conference, which will see industry experts from both private and public sectors share insights into how businesses can effectively navigate through Brexit.
”As the world is getting smaller and the opportunities getting bigger, now more than ever is the time to champion the success of small and medium businesses across the UK. SMEs are utilising new digital technologies to grow their companies, increase exports and reach new heights in terms of customer service. We look forward to celebrating their success at the Festival in November” – Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager at Amazon
The conference is expecting to bring together politicians and governing officials, as well as business professionals from a range of industries including; finance, infrastructure, media, IT, technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and farming.
Beechdean currently holds the market share within the food services sector and is a key competitor in the out-of-home sector, with plans to develop its prominence in retail in 2017/18. There’s a genuine principle within the business to produce high quality products at competitive prices.
The family owned business has had a record breaking 2016 so far and is expecting to achieve 15% year-on-year growth. It also recently launched its luxurious Loseley Dairy Ice Cream in the iconic Royal Albert Hall as part of a new four year deal. 2017 will mark an exciting time in the company’s history, when Andrew and Susie’s sons (Nicholas and Robert) will join the company, having finished university.
All shortlist candidates were invited to the Telegraph to take part in a video interview, which will be aired at the conference. Andrew and Susie Howard made the decision to send their son Nicholas Howard to represent the company. The video is due to be played to some of the country’s top industry experts just prior to the winner being declared, an announcement that will be eagerly anticipated by the whole company.
